Hi all, in this opportunity I will explain about my hometown
in Bengkulu City, on the Sumatra island. Sumatra Island is famous for its flora
and fauna, everything is on Bengkulu city. Have you ever watched drama of “
seven human of tigers” ? The drama was lifted from a legend story in Curup, and
Curup is still same province as my hometown. As well as with the fauna, corpse
flower and Rafflesia flower in Bengkulu is a legendary plant in Indonesia even
in the world. although the smell of the corpse flower is very bad, its very
rotten.
Not only that, and you surely know who is Soekarno, he was
once taken to the city of Bengkulu, and until now the house of Soekarno in Bengkulu
still exist and become one of the most famous tourist attractions in Bengkulu. Not
just the house of Soekarno, but there is also the Fatmawati House, Fatmawati is
wife of Sukarno. Besides of traditional houses, Bengkulu also has a very
interesting beach, its name is a long beach. The beach was very long as far as
the eye could see. Many things you can do in beach, but its not recommended to
swim there. And There is a Marlborough
castle of English relics, if we see the marlborough fort from above, then the
castle will be shaped like a frog.
Food in my hometown is also no less interesting than the
tourist attractions, and two foods I recommend for you to try are Pendap and
Tempuyak. Pendap is made from fish mixed with other spices, then cooked with
taro leaves. And tempoyak is a food made from durian fermentation, it feels a
bit sour, however tempoyak become one of the favorite in there.. in my hometown
in Bengkulu .. even in Sumatra.
There is one event in Bengkulu that I really like, the name
of the event is Tabot. Tabot is a traditional ceremony of the people of
Bengkulu held aimed to commemorate the story of the heroic and death of the
grandson of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. The event lasted for ten days, from the
date of one untill ten of Muharram. The event takes place every year, and
become one tourist destination, because many foods, people selling clothes, many perfomances, and the release of a tutle
boy, and other event.
Thank you for reading, I hope you have time to vacation to Bengkulu,
and I will gladly accompany you on vacation there. I will show that Indonesia
has Bengkulu, and Indonesian people should be proud of Bengkulu.
